Visibility over your stock

Stock reporting based on WMS data

Stock reports turn the data recorded in the WMS into a clear picture of the goods in the warehouse: what stock is available, which receipts and issues were recorded and, where the project requires it, how batches and shelf lives are tracked.

Operational data

What stock reporting tells you

Stock reporting brings together the information recorded in the WMS and gives a clear picture of the goods and the operations that changed the stock.

  • Stock status – the quantities recorded in the WMS at the reporting point.
  • Receipts and issues – the operations that explain changes in quantity.
  • Batches and shelf lives – for projects where this information is tracked in the WMS.
  • Operation history – context for the changes in the period reviewed.

Reporting complements stock management: management keeps the operational record up to date, and reporting organises the data for review and analysis.

From operation to report

How operational data reaches the report

The report is based on the operations recorded as goods come in, are managed in the warehouse and are prepared for dispatch.

  1. ReceivingGoods receiving records what enters the flow.
  2. StorageThe WMS keeps the stock record throughout storage.
  3. Order preparationPicking confirms the products selected for the orders prepared.
  4. ReportingThe data is brought together in the stock statement agreed for the project.

In flows with scan control, the confirmations made at the checkpoints add to the operational record in the WMS.

Reporting and analysing stock based on warehouse data

Management vs. reporting

Stock management vs. stock reporting

  • Stock management tracks and updates the goods in the WMS operationally.
  • Stock reporting organises the recorded data to check the stock and analyse changes.
  • E-commerce integration

The TCE Logiplus platform can integrate with any e-commerce platform on the market, to take in orders and pass on the data the warehouse operations need.

  • Veterinary-sanitary authorised warehouse

TCE Logiplus operates a veterinary-sanitary authorised warehouse for products of animal and non-animal origin, from EU and non-EU countries, within the limits and conditions set by the applicable authorisations.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about stock reporting

  1. What can I track in a stock report?

Depending on the data managed for the project, the report can include the quantity recorded in the WMS, receipts and issues, batches, shelf lives and information on the operations that changed the stock.

  2. How can I check why a product's stock changed?

The change can be analysed against the operations recorded in that period, such as receipts and issues for orders.

  3. Are stock reporting and stock management the same service?

No. Management keeps the operational record of the goods in the WMS, while reporting organises the resulting data for reviewing and analysing the stock.

  4. Can batches and shelf lives be tracked?

Yes. When this information is part of the project's stock management set-up, it can also be included in stock reporting.

  5. Is the report structure the same for every project?

Not necessarily. The relevant information depends on the type of goods, the operational flow and the data tracked in the WMS for that project.
