Protecting the goods
Which risks are covered during storage
Storing goods means managing them physically and keeping stock records, but also protecting the goods in the logistics operator's custody. Insurance adds to the operational measures that keep stock secure and provides financial protection in events such as theft, fire, flooding or accidental damage.
In a well-controlled logistics flow, insurance works together with the prevention and control measures in the warehouse. Traceability starts at goods receiving, and scan control helps check products at different stages of the flow. Stock monitoring and following operating procedures help identify and document any incidents properly.

How insurance for stored goods applies
Once received into the warehouse, goods enter the TCE Logiplus operating flow and are handled according to the procedures set for the project. Goods are identified, recorded and tracked throughout the storage period, so there is a clear record of the goods under management.
The process starts with goods receiving and continues with allocating the goods to storage locations and updating the stock records. Depending on the operation, traceability can include information such as the batch, the shelf life and the stock movements recorded in the WMS.
- Identifying and recording the goodsReceived products are taken into stock and linked to the information needed to track them in the warehouse.
- Stock traceabilityThe WMS tracks stock movements and, where relevant to the project, information such as the batch and the shelf life.
- Record of operationsReceipts and stock movements are recorded, giving a clear basis for checking the status of the goods under management.
